1. Data retention policy
Data retention practices: Culinaire stores and retains user data so we can provide the app (account sync, meal plans, grocery lists, saved recipes, allergen settings, AI cooks, and related features). The following describes how long we keep each category of data and the criteria we use.
Default rule: we retain personal data linked to your Culinaire account for the life of the account (while the account is active and has not been deleted). When you request account or data deletion, we delete or anonymize that personal data within 30 days of verifying the request, unless a longer retention period is required by law or listed below.
- Account profile (name, email, photo, sign-in identifiers): retained for the life of the account; deleted or anonymized within 30 days after a verified deletion request.
- Diet labels, allergen profile, meal plans, grocery lists, saved recipes, and AI cook chats: retained for the life of the account so Culinaire can sync across devices; deleted or anonymized within 30 days after a verified deletion request.
- Fridge and profile photos uploaded to cloud storage: retained for the life of the account, or until you replace or delete them in the app; remaining copies are deleted within 30 days after a verified deletion request.
- Purchase and subscription records (via RevenueCat and Google Play / App Store): retained for the life of the account and for up to 7 years after cancellation or deletion where needed for billing, restore purchases, fraud prevention, tax, or accounting obligations.
- Push and messaging identifiers (OneSignal): retained until you disable notifications or for the life of the account; removed within 30 days after a verified deletion request.
- Barcode lookups via Open Food Facts: product queries are sent to that service to show results. Culinaire does not keep a permanent personal scan archive. Transient on-device or session results are not retained as a long-term personal history after the session ends.
- Website / technical logs (if generated by our host): retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.
- Necessary legal retention: if we must keep limited records for security, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, tax, or accounting, we retain only what is required and for no longer than 7 years (or the minimum period required by applicable law), then delete or anonymize them.
Summary for Google Play reviewers: Culinaire's data retention policy is that we do store and retain user data as described in this section. We do not state that we do not store or retain user data.
2. Data deletion process
This section is Culinaire's data deletion policy. You can request deletion of your Culinaire account and associated personal data. Account deletion means we delete the account and associated personal data; we do not merely freeze or deactivate the account. Until an in-app deletion button is available, email is the official channel and the external web resource for deletion requests.
- Email culinaire@oriomnis.com from the address on your Culinaire account.
- Use the subject line: Data deletion request.
- Include your Culinaire account email and, if known, your in-app display name.
- We confirm receipt, verify ownership of the account, then delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except limited records retained under the data retention policy in section 1 (for example billing or legal records for up to 7 years where required).
Deletion does not automatically reverse:
- Active Google Play or App Store subscriptions. Cancel billing in the store account that purchased Culinaire Pro.
- Data held by Open Food Facts or Edamam under their own policies when you scanned products or searched recipes.
